How we rank

How we choose the providers we feature, how products are ordered, and how we keep MoneyCompare free to use.

MoneyCompare is completely free for you to use. As explained in our advertising disclosure, we're paid a commission by some of the providers featured on this site when you click through or open an account. This is a standard model across comparison services and it's what allows us to keep the site free.

The factors we consider

To decide which providers we partner with and how products are presented, we look at a range of factors that we believe matter to our users:

  • Regulatory status and protection — whether the provider is authorised by the FCA/PRA, and whether deposits are FSCS-protected or, for e-money providers, safeguarded.
  • Product quality and value — fees, rates, features, eligibility and the overall competitiveness of the offer.
  • Commercial arrangements — see our advertising disclosure and 'How we rank'.

The information we publish

The factual information we publish — fees, rates and eligibility — is taken from providers' own public terms and reviewed regularly. Commercial relationships never change those facts.

Rankings are not advice

A product's position in our listings shouldn't be read as advice or as a statement that it's the best or cheapest option for your specific circumstances.

Everyone's needs are different, which is why we give you filters and sorting tools to reorder results by what matters most to you — and why we always recommend reading a provider's full terms before making a decision.

MoneyCompare is not a bank and does not provide financial advice.
