Head of Content in Digital Money
Maria Valentina Pasta leads the editorial team behind MoneyCompare’s guides and news. A personal finance writer since 2017 and Head of Content at Digital Money, she focuses on turning provider small print into explanations UK readers can actually use, whether they are opening a first savings account or comparing the cost of sending money abroad.

At MoneyCompare, Maria Valentina Pasta shapes what readers find in the Guides and News sections: which topics are covered, how each product is explained and how often the information is checked.
Her career in financial publishing began in 2017, when she took charge of a digital newsroom covering the economy and personal finance. Running a team of writers taught her that the hardest part of financial content is rarely the research. It is explaining a fee structure or an interest calculation so that someone without a finance background understands what it means for their money.
In January 2025 she joined Digital Money as Head of Content, overseeing comparison sites in several countries. Working across different banking systems gives her a useful outside view of the UK market: she notices the details that local readers often take for granted, such as how notice periods work on savings or why a card’s overseas fees matter more than its headline rate.
She studied at the University of Palermo and completed a Master’s in Marketing and Communication at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Turin, a background that still guides how she structures content around the questions readers bring to a page.
Role at MoneyCompare
Editorial Lead
Maria Valentina decides how MoneyCompare explains financial products, starting from what readers need to know before choosing rather than from what providers choose to highlight. Every guide she publishes is checked against the provider’s own documents and revisited when rates or terms change, so the information on the page reflects what is available today.
